Get Involved

The Visitation Process

Visitors are welcome to come without notice or application and stay for 2 weeks. If you’d like to stay longer than 2 weeks you may make a request at council, which would then be consented upon by the community. Visitors are not expected to contribute monetarily but are expected to uphold all other guidelines. When you arrive, ask for a tour of the space!

Our guidelines:

  • No violence
  • No drugs
  • No alcohol
  • All pets must be on a leash
  • Smoking in designated areas only
  • We prefer to live outside of the system and deal with problems on our own.

Accountability Agreement

While sharing the space we agree to the following agreement:

Individuals commit to active participation, honest communication, timely completion of agreed upon responsibilities, and respectful collaboration. Each individual accepts responsibility for tasks they volunteer for, communicates promptly if circumstances change, and supports fellow members in achieving the working group’s shared goals.

Accountability is intended to strengthen trust, transparency, and collective success rather than assign blame.

If you think you’d like to visit longer than a few days, here are some helpful questions to ask yourself before visiting:

  • What about communal living interests me?
  • What would I like to bring to The Garden?
  • What would I like to learn/focus on while at The Garden?
  • Am I comfortable with living primitively (roughing it)?
  • Am I willing and able to respect the community’s guidelines?
  • What part/s of the mission statement resonate with me?
  • What is my personal mission statement for life?
